Before you set off
Tips for cycling the route with children
Bring water and snacks
There are few places to eat along the route, apart from Valdemurio and at the end near Proaza. Best to come prepared with something for the children.
Comfortable clothing
Casual sportswear is fine for cycling. No specialist kit or technical clothing required.
Trainers or sports shoes
Comfortable shoes that grip the pedals well. Avoid sandals or flip-flops, especially for young children.
Sun protection in summer
Parts of the route are exposed to sun, especially coming out of the tunnels. Suncream and a cap are strongly recommended.
Waterproof layer in autumn/winter
Asturias is Asturias. If you're going in rainy season, a light waterproof layer makes all the difference for children.
