Full route: with the Valdemurio reservoir detour

This is the only junction on the map. When you reach Caranga, if you want the full route, take the detour towards the reservoir. Otherwise, continue straight on towards Proaza and Buyera.

Common mistakes when reading the map

Thinking the route is hard to follow

It is not — the path is unique and fully signposted from start to finish

Confusing the reservoir detour with the main route

The detour is at Caranga and is optional — keep straight and you reach Buyera with no detours

The Valdemurio detour adds about 10 km and significant elevation — factor this in when planning

Not knowing the route is linear

You start and end in different places — you need to arrange your return to the starting point

Tips for navigating the route

Study the map before you leave — identify Caranga as the only decision point
For the short route: do not take the detour at Caranga, keep straight
For the full route: from Caranga, take the detour towards the reservoir
Buyera is always the final destination — from any point on the route
