About the route

Is cycling the Senda del Oso difficult?

Not at all — it is a very easy route suitable for all fitness levels. No special physical condition is required.

Can I do it with no experience?

Yes, no prior experience is needed. It's a simple, paved, traffic-free greenway that anyone can enjoy.

Is it easy to follow?

Yes. The route is fully paved and signposted throughout. We also give you a map when you collect your bike.

How long does the route take?

It depends on which section you choose: the short route (18 km) takes 2 to 2.5 hours; the full route (28 km) takes 3 to 5 hours.

Which is the best route?

We recommend Entrago to Buyera. It is shorter, entirely downhill, and passes all the most beautiful spots on the Senda del Oso.

Cycling with children

Can I do it with children?

Yes — it is one of the best family routes you will find. No traffic, fully paved, and no technical difficulty.

What options are there for young children?

It depends on age: 1–4 years, front child seat; 3–6 years, trailer or semi-tandem; 6 and over, their own junior bike.

Is it safe for children?

Yes. It is a traffic-free greenway, very easy to ride, and ideal for the whole family including the youngest members.

Planning and logistics

Where does the route start?

In Entrago, where our facilities are based. Free parking is available.

Where does the route end?

The route ends at Buyera, the final point of the Senda del Oso.

How do I get back to the start?

We pick you up at Buyera and drive you back to Entrago. The return transfer is included in the price.

What time can I start?

Departures run from 9:30 to 14:30. We recommend booking ahead during the high season.

What time are the return pickups?

Pickups from Buyera run every hour between 13:00 and 18:00.

About bike hire

What is included in the hire?

The hire includes the bike, a certified helmet, accident insurance, on-route assistance, a route map, and the return transfer from Buyera.

Are bikes available for all heights?

Yes, we have bikes in all sizes including XXL. We adjust the bike to your measurements before you set off.

What types of bikes do you have?

We have mountain bikes, leisure bikes, junior bikes, tandems, semi-tandems, and a tricycle for people with reduced mobility.

Can I swap my bike or accessories?

Yes, you can swap subject to availability when you collect your bike.

Bookings, changes and cancellations

Do I need to pay in advance?

No, that is not required. You pay on the day of the activity at our facilities.

Can I cancel my booking?

Yes, you can cancel up to 24 hours before at no cost.

Can I change my booking?

Yes, no problem at all. Just call or message us and we will sort it out.

What happens if it rains?

You can reschedule or cancel without any penalty. The route can be done in light rain, but if you prefer to wait for better weather, we completely understand.

During the ride

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothing and sports footwear. In summer, bring sun protection. In winter or on rainy days, a waterproof jacket.

Are there places to eat?

Yes — there is a café at Valdemurio, and at the end of the route in Proaza there are several restaurants.

Should I bring food?

It is a good idea to bring snacks and water. The ride takes between 2 and 5 hours depending on the route.

Where are the bears?

Near the end of the route, close to Buyera, at the bear enclosure run by the Fundación Oso de Asturias.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes, we have special pet trailers so your dog can enjoy the ride too.

How much weight can the dog trailers carry?

We have two models: one up to 20 kg and another for dogs between 20 and 35 kg.

Is there a deposit for trailers?

Yes, there is a €40 deposit which is refunded at the end of the ride.

Is there parking?

Yes, free parking is available at our facilities in Entrago.
